Yes and no. You cannot benefit directly from the money you fundraise. You can organize fundraisers that will be directly benefiting the project you are going to undertake, for example building materials and so on. You may not count fundraising as a Service if the money is used to pay for your journey/programme, for example fees, flights, insurance, hotel accommodation and so on.
No, to successfully achieve an Award, an activity should be undertaken that requires you to come out of your comfort zone and also requires donating time to a genuine cause, for the required length of time depending on the Award level chosen. You should be able to show regular commitment to the scoiety, progress and improvement of your chosen activity.
Activity incharge can assess your service, but the incharge should be out of blood relation.
